Rendar is situated on the northern most tip of Forin. Its borders are mostly cold icy seas, because of this the Rendarians have become very adept at crafting ships, and sailing them. A Rendar can be found at almost any port city. They are highly sought after sailors as they fear little once they are on the seas. Though they sail the seas trading with the other countries of Forin Rendarians are as tough as the land they live in. The country is mostly forested, with roaming clans of trolls living through out. Life is cold and hard, but it forges the toughest folk the lands will ever know. The country is ruled by a king, who rules from the capital city of Kivan. Clans rule most of Rendar, each clan has a chieftain that answers to the king. The king is elected by a vote of the present chieftains upon the old kings death.

Major Geographical Features
The Wyrd Woods – The Wyrd as its called by locals is vast forest that covers most of Rendar. The trees here are some of the most ancient living things on Alduras. The woods themselves have a deep connection with the mysterious fey realm.
Cerian Mountain Range/Orthendel’s Reach – The sharp and and snow covered mountains divide Rendar from Northern Ceriana. They are listed as the Cerian Mountains on most maps found in Forin, but the Rendarians know them as Orthendel’s Reach. Legend says that the God Orthendel made his home in the peaks of the mountain range so that he could keep a ever watchful eye on his children.
The Frozen Cliffs – Running along the north coast of Rendar dwell the Frozen Cliffs, shear walls of ice that tower over the churning icy sea below.
Important Sites
Kivan (Capital, 22,000)
The largest of the cities in Rendar is the capital which houses the palace of the king, as well as most of his clan. The palace is known as “The Lodge”. It is a maze of halls and houses, each king adds onto The Lodge adding his own mark to the building. It is reported to be one of the largest buildings in all of Forin and it stretches on over a massive 500,000 square feet. Many of the older sections and pathways through out its depths have been forgotten and lost. The city itself is situated in the center of the country large well maintained roads connect it to the rest of the ports and cities. The bear clan makes up much of the high class in Kivan they are a sturdy and proud people who like most Rendarians are standoffish to outsiders.
Krag Rock (City/Fortress, 2,500)
The massive structure that is Krag Rock stands as a last line of defense for the peoples of Rendar. The massive fortress was build over many centuries its massive walls made from a mix mash of stones. Its main purpose is to house the people of Rendar in times of war. The original keep sits at the center of the maze of walls and perapits, it was built by Ghent’s Folk that live beneath the Silver Hills as a place to trade with the Tall Folk above. While it is still used as such the keep is but a small part of the massive fortress now a days. The fortress is home of the clan of the badger. They keep the fortress in repair as well as help keep up relations with the dwarves of Thry’Azil.
Nordin (Coastal Village, 1437)
The town of Nordin is named after its founder Nordin the Drunk, a ship captain who had a powerful love for the drink. Legend tells that Nordin was headed north toward Vanguard with a shipment of supplies to aid in it’s ongoing expansion project, when he had to dry dock his massive ship from a freak storm off the coast. Nordin and his crew found shelter on land with a group of dwarven folk. They had been sent out to survey a local rock cluster for signs of precious metals. Well one thing led to another and the two groups weathered the storm with a roaring fire and vast amounts of alcohol. Months went by before the scouting ships found Nordin and his crew. They had used what supplies they had on board to make a large drinking house for themselves and their new dwarven friends.
Nordin sits on the coast of Traverse Bay. It is a small city, but constantly busy with ships docking to unload and upload goods for trade. The city proper is framed by thick stone walls about 6ft. high with a 20ft wooden palasade backed behind it. While many passersby stop for a time at Nordin, most of the inhabitants belong to the Fox clan, a wise and resourceful people.
Silver Hills “Thry’Azil” (Dwarven City, 8,000)
The silver hills are home to a large clan of hill dwarves. The city itself is located under the hills and stretches far and wide encompassing the whole rolling hill range. To the dwarves who call this home it is known as Thry’Azil. The mines below flow with silver vines as thick as a troll arm. The dwarves of Rendar keep to themselves and do not hold themselves as Rendarian.
Frostmane Keep (Ruins)
An old fortress long sense abandoned that sits frozen over with layers of ice. It lays on the edge of the Frozen Cliffs at the farthest north point of the land of Rendar.
Griffonbreak Keep (Ruins)
Located to the south west of the Silver Hills perched atop the the cliffs of Orthendel’s Reach sits Griffonbreak Keep. The keep was once home to the clan griffon. The clan is now all but gone a few still claim decent from it. The clan was known for its raising and riding of the magical winged creatures known as griffons. With near extenction of the animals the clan has faded away. Though the keep and avery of clan still stands proudly its empty hallow halls a remnant of Rendarian glory.
Vanguard (Coastal City, 10,350)
Vanguard is the second largest city in Rendar. Its docks go on for miles and miles. The city itself is a tight built city with little room between buildings. It was built this way to fit as much as possible within the near thirty foot walls that surround the city. The walls unlike most defended cities were built not to keep out invading armies but to keep out the torrent of snow and wind that comes down from the sea of ice. Vanguard is home to much of Rendar’s navel forces as well as its main ship building facilities. The city and out line towns are controled by the Frost Wyrm clan.
Westend (Coastal City, 2467)
The city of Westend is a prime trading hub for most of the west coast of Forin. The hodge podge city is a patch work of different style buildings. Starting in the center is very traditional Rendar with a great mead hall and small keep, as you travel further to the out side ring of the city you find dwarvish and gnomish style buildings with all manner of metal and stone used. Westend is also a favored spot for smugglers and pirates who find its laws and taxes far more appealing then those of Northern Ceriana or Durin.
Eastend (Coastal City, 3,023)
The town of Eastend quite different from most Rendarian towns and cities. Its buildings resemble more the architecture of the neighboring country of Durin. This do to the fact that the town was rebuilt after a dragon attack and was funded by the country of Durin itself. In exchange Durin reseved tax discounts and trade agreements, aswell as the ability to build a Durnish embasy on Rendarian soil. The towns people are also quite different the customs and way of life are heavily influenced from Durnish culture.
