Life and Society
The majority of the people of Vaegog are almost slaves to the land. Lords and dukes, each control their territories with iron fists. They put a choke-hold on the limited food supplies to get the populace to bend to their wills. Each village and city usually has a particular type of good or service that it provides and the lord of that area will keep the food supplies on schedule as long as the quotas are met.
Major Geographical Features
Whithering Peaks – Mountain range running from central to east Vaegog
Warwick Woods – Along the southern face of the Whithering Peaks
Wood of Thorns – An unpleasant stretch of vegetation along the northern border. The undergrowth is mostly brambles while piercing pines and thorny black locust trees make up much of the upper canopy. Some citizens of Vaegog will dare enter either in search of the rare fruit bearing plants within such as the spiny apple. A courageous few have even cleared small patches to try to coax a crop out of the dry soil. If discovered they risk a slow and terrible death at the hands of the local duke’s torturer. Few are the paths that allow access to anything larger than a rabbit. Being on the border with Gracia, a military presence on both sides of the line is fairly common.
Wythren Ocean – On the western border of Vaegog.

Gaeling
A fallen city from the days before Nolice leashed Vaegog. Stories tell that its people never succumbed to the new rule, and that their ghosts still hold a grudge against the newly placed Vaegogian nobles.
Thesh (Town, 0)
Thesh is now a ghost town with more buildings burnt to the ground than left standing. At it’s peak, it housed almost 2,000 citizens. An iron mine employed the majority of the town’s labor. The iron veins ran dry and the local duke stopped shipments of food to the town. He tried to recoup some of his losses by forcibly enslaving the remaining population. Those who resisted were put to the sword. The rest were marched off in shackles, most likely to be sold in the slave markets of Nolice as manual labor or human sacrifices to the god of Darkness.
Stonerage Hold (Dwarven town, 0)
A now abandon dwarven hold. It was the former home of the Stonerage Clan and now is little more than a mass burial site for them. Many of the surface minerals were strip mined with little regard for structural integrity or proper planning after the local lord had his way with the hold.
Cindar (Town, 900 ( up to 1500 counting the caravan traders ))
Cindar is a bustling trade hub, as much as they can be within Vaegog. Much of the town is made up of warehouses where the local duke maintains stores brought in from around his duchy and dispenses them as he sees fit to the outlying villages. The main trade of Cindar is smithing. Raw iron and other metals are refined into ingots as well as simple tools in many stalls throughout the town. The normally dry brown landscape has an extra tinge of grey from the excess soot and charcoal abundant throughout the town.

Samdiel (City, Population)
Sits near the border with Gracia to the east of the Wood of Thorns. It often serves as a gathering point for raids into Gracia and itself is often a target for raiding Gracian forces.
Regional History
For 1,000 years, Vaegog has taken direction from Nolice. In the war that split Nolice from Gracia, Vaegog was spawned. It seems that the life force of Vaegog has been drained over the years. The land itself is hard pressed to support life. Those few spots that are still fertile are jealously guarded and hoarded by the local lords. The produce is rationed meagerly to keep the people of the country in line.
Plots and Rumors
There are rumors that one, if not more, factions are interested in seeing the upper echelons of the nobility brought low. Perhaps they would dare go so far as to free Vaegog from Nolice’s chains.
