Ariel is one of the two eldest children of the All Father. Brought into being before the world was yet created, she and her brother followed their father through the many planes of existence. Learning from his strength, and all knowing wisdom. Until the All Father deemed them ready and gifted onto his children a world to call their own, Alduras. Ariel has always been the light to her brother’s darkness. In those first years she created the sun to bring light and warmth to her world. Her brother always her opposite brought into being the moon to push aside her sun each day.
This was only the beginning of the conflicts between the two twins. What Ariel would breathe life into; Demos would crush, or twist to his unbending will. The back and forth between the two eventually would lead to not one but two breakings of the world. After the second breaking the All Father came and stripped of his two children much of their power. In doing so peace was found, all though a tentative peace it was. From the first breaking Bramd was made and from that Ariel knew finally what love was. For she had never looked onto anything that she cared so much for, as she did the stoic god. Bramd gifted Ariel with love and family, two things that have become the core of her very being.
Dogma:
Ariel believes that the world and all that live in it are decent and good from birth. It is the choices that they make along the winding path of life that turns them to darkness. In her own words “Darkness is ever present. It waits patiently for the light to fade, before it can crawl forth. In truth this is the way of all things. Darkness can never fully consume whilst there be light and goodness about. Just as the smallest of lights can tear away the darkest of shadows.” – From the Scriptures of Light
Clergy and Temples:
Ariel’s followers, also known as the children of the sun believe in the light that resides in all things around them. They stride to be exemplars to the rest of mankind. Showing them through actions what honesty and goodness can achieve. The children of the light suffer no evil to befall the innocent, and will go out of their way to help turn those fallen to darkness back to the light. Whilst the children of the sun are many, Ariel holds followers from all walks of life, from common farmer, to lords and ladies. Churches to the goddess of the sun can be found all over Alduras. They appear bright and airy with usually large works of stained glass depicting Ariel and her family.
