Dogma:
Magister is not just the deity of all magic in the world of Alduras, he is also the sworn protector of it. Magister was made when the All Father first gave magic to the peoples of the world. He was created from the All Father’s want for the mere mortals to be protected from the raw power that is magic. He also knew that magic was a power that could be abused and broken. For all these reasons he gave life to his son Magister.
Magister was originally a teacher. He worked with the first folk and taught them how to harness and work the magic that flowed from everything around them. He set up fail safes into the weave of magic and made sure not just anyone could pull from the weave. Only someone of dedication and understanding could harness the powers he was entrusted to guard. As time went by he taught less and less. He watched as those he’d taught in turn taught others. He marveled at the ingenuity of their works of magic. Sadly the breaking and remaking of the world took much out of him. He taught those that came anew, and they too were a marvel to him his heart gained back some of that which was lost. Then came a darkness onto the world, a time now long forgotten. A time where those who had mastered his gifts took it upon themselves to rule over those without magic. Sadly the god knew that for as long as mortals held magic, they would also misuse it. His days of wandering the Prime Material teaching were at an end. He retreated to the Nexichron, the fulcrum of all reality and magic. The teacher had faded…only the guardian remained. His focus now on using his clergy to guard that which is most precious to the world. The life blood of the land…MAGIC
Clergy and Temples:
The clergy of Magister come from all walks of life. They know that magic is apart of all things in the world of Alduras and it is their duty to protect and guard it all. They have temples in most major cities and all Grand Magi that run the few remaining schools of magic bend knee and give prayer to Magister. The Magi as they are called also honor their lord by helping teach those who wish to be taught the truth and joy that comes from magic. While they give their knowledge freely they also keep a wary eye on those who would use the teachings to gain power and control.
