Maphesto was born of the unholy union of Deimos and the Hag Queen Malaglas, once ruler of the 6th level of hell. So, Maphesto not only claims godhood, but also royal lineage within the devil spawned recesses of hell. He is the only truly loyal offspring of Deimos. He understands order and his place as the general of Deimos’ forces. He does not stray as his brothers and sister would, and is content with the power he has at the moment.
Maphesto carries a sword known as the Weeping Blade. The souls of those he smites are incarcerated in black sludge like tears that excrete from the blades grooves. Maphesto wipes those tears on his shield which has taken on a shining black hue. The faces of the damned scream out and can be briefly seen on the face of the shield when Maphesto is in battle.
