Layward is the god of Exploration and Travel. His clergy is not well organized and mostly his worshipers are adventures or those about to leave on a long trips. Prayers for Layward’s guidance are common across the land, and many stop to say a quick prayer at one of his numerous roadside shrines.

Dogma:
The holy word of Layward isn’t extensive by any means. His main teachings are that everyone should have a few miles of dust on their boots. He instills the drive to lend aid to fellow travelers who ask for it. By aiding those also on the road it encourages others to travel and find new and exciting things in this wonderful world. Never stop exploring the unknown.

Clergy and Temples:
Few temples are built to Layward yet he has many small shrines along roadsides and crossroads. His clerics normally are constantly on the move pushing themselves to emulate the ever wandering of their deity. There are a select group who have taken up the act of exploration and call themselves the Wayward Path. They gather together to exchange notes, maps, and information about different far off locations. The group pools resources to help fund grander, and grander ventures into the unknown of Alduras.

Description: Feon has long jet black hair normally  pulled up in a top knot. His attire is flashy and impeccable with striking black eyes that work well with his pretty face and soothing voice. Feon earns room and board performing and entertaining anywhere he can.

Leveling Progression:

Character History: Feon grew up in a small village in the mountains cut off from the outside world. Twice a year the village trader would go to the big city and return with all that the village required to maintain their modest life style. One day a group of hunters returned to the town in a panic and babbling that they had awoken something in the nearby caves.  The village consul decided to take shelter in the ancient hiding grounds inside a cave on the side of the mountain until the threat passed.  During their first night a scout returned from the village terribly injured He reported a red dragon was burning their village to the ground. 2 days later the dragon returned for them. It entered the grand hall and took everyone by surprise and then the fire came. Feon had just enough time to jump partially behind a rock formation. He could feel the heat on his skin and then he lost consciousness. When he awoke …..  silence…. he opened his eyes it was dark he desperately felt around for a light source and then it happened the torch on the wall lit itself and as the room was illuminated Feon took in the scene of horror. Everyone in the room  was unrecognizable, burned down to just their bones. Over the next few 10 days Feon gathered the remains of his family and friends and put them to rest. Salvaging any supplies he could find that weren’t destroyed he set off the mountain in search of civilization and answers….. what was happening to him? Why did the beast attack? Why was his skin shimmering? And why would things just happen when he thought about them now?

Vodin Redbeard

Character Name: Vodin Redbeard

Hair: White with hints of the red from his younger years.
Eyes: Blue

Description:
Vodin has long white hair but thinning on top. His beard is almost mostly white and streaked with red. Despite this, when near the forge, you can still see the red cast from the fire giving his family their name. It would go almost to his waist, but he keeps it neat and oiled and normally tied in braids and in some beads. He is burly chested even for dwarves, but its not all muscle due to his wife’s great cooking.

Character History:
Vodin is just starting to enjoy the twilight of his life. His kids have all moved on to their own careers with one of his sons taking over the family blacksmithing leaving him to come and go as he pleases. Normally that means working hours in the forge and on the anvil, which is his altar to Ghent.

Ghent seems to be talking to him more and more though recently in his dreams. He feels the tug to try to make one more lasting impact on his family and clan with the great discovery hinted at to him during the sleeping hours. With his kids out and his wife busy homemaking for him, now is the perfect time to see what his god has in store for him. Maybe this can reverse the clan’s ill fortunes.

Tandek Gemjaw

Description: Tandek is a goodly sized dwarf, on the bigger end of the dwarven measuring stone than most. A mess of long black hair is usually held back by a piece of cloth allowing him to see his work. He has always been industrious, even by dwarven standards. Cracking and hauling stone has been his vocation for the past decade, leaving him strong of arm and stout of back

Leveling Progression: Fighter Champion

Character History: The Gemjaws were once a family of renown weaponsmiths. Misfortune struck and the family’s prosperous holdings dwindled. Now most Gemjaws, those that have kept the family name, work the mines or cut stone. Tandek has been toiling in the mason’s trade, cutting and fitting stone. He hails from the southeastern end of the mountain range known as The Teeth. Picking up jobs as he or the guild finds them has had him moving about the mountains and nearby cities and villages. His latest contract has recently finished with no new prospects at hand and he is itching to find new work.
